Corporate and social responsibility
Inter Terminals is committed to the social and environmental wellbeing of the communities in which we operate.
Our target is zero harm to people, the environment and property arising from our operational activities across our storage network. As part of our responsibilities in being a good neighbour, the company and its employees seek to undertake activities that have a positive impact on the wellbeing of our communities. This is achieved in the following ways:
Community sponsorship. We provide financial support to organisations that enhance the social wellbeing of our communities, from fund raising for local causes to sponsoring a local sports team. This is complemented by our Community outreach programme, which promotes participation in activities such as volunteering at a local food bank or helping with a school maintenance project.
Environmental sponsorship. This involves providing financial support to environmental charities and organisations that seek to enhance the environment of our communities. In addition, our Environmental outreach programme encourages participation in eco-friendly activities, including helping to clean up beaches and planting trees. In the UK, for example, our terminal at Seal Sands is actively involved in protecting and enhancing the natural environment on Teesside through its membership of the Industry Nature Conservation Association.
