Lewis Tankers wins LNG transportation contract

Lewis Tankers Ltd (Lewis Tankers), the UK-based road tanker operation of Simon Storage Ltd (Simon Storage) and an industry leader in bulk liquid and chemical distribution, has been awarded a road transportation contract by Scotland Gas Networks plc (SGN), a Scotia Gas Networks company.

The three-year contract worth £1.6million started on 4 July 2008 and involves the delivery of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to SGN’s plants in Scotland. The contract will be serviced by an existing seven-man team which will transfer to Lewis Tankers. Stewart MacDonald, General Manager of Lewis Tankers, commented, “The specialist logistics market relies on suppliers that can handle high value and hazardous products safely and securely. Lewis Tankers has established a deserved reputation for reliable, high quality service and we are delighted to be awarded this contract.”
