Extended environmental permit for waste handling

Inter Terminals has now been granted an extended environmental permit for waste handling. This enables the storage and handling of feedstock for second-generation biofuels, such as used cooking oil and waste fats from restaurants and the food industry.
This type of feedstock is a residual material that does not compete with food production. It is used by refineries to reduce dependence on fossil raw materials in fuel production, resulting in significantly lower CO₂ emissions and supporting a circular value chain from waste to finished fuel.
“With this permit in place, we are ready to offer flexible storage solutions and adapt our infrastructure to meet the needs of customers in the growing sustainable fuels market. Our ambition is to support the green transition by enabling increased production of advanced biofuels,” says Cecilia Lönnroth, Commercial Manager, Inter Terminals Sweden.
