Danish Terminals
In Denmark, Inter Terminals operates four deep draft coastal terminals at Asnaes, Ensted, Stigsnaes and Gulfhavn which provide build bulk, break bulk and custom blending services for distillates and heated oil products. The four-terminal complex has a combined capacity of approximately 1.8 million cubic metres of storage in 50 mild steel tanks. The facilities provide deep water loading and unloading access to large shipping vessels including VLCC tankers.
History and development
Inter Pipeline acquired the four oil storage Terminals in Denmark in 2011 from a subsidiary of DONG Energy A/S, one of the largest energy groups in Northern Europe. The acquisition established Inter Pipeline as the fourth largest independent storage business in Europe, increasing its total storage capacity in Western Europe to over 3 million cubic metres or over 19 million barrels. The terminals occupy a strategic location along the Danish Straits, the third most active transit channel for oil products in the world. The facilities have historically high utilisation rates and a well-diversified customer base including some of the world’s leading oil companies and traders. The Asnaes Terminal also offers storage for an adjacent refinery.
